Message from the Chairman
Howdy and thanks for all your help on TrashFest 2006. We couldn't have done it without you and our2006 TrashFest sponsors.
This year, TrashFest participants collected 1,784 lbs of trash plus 8,898 cans/bottles and 80 shoes and sunglasses! The folks who joined us for the BBQ took home over $11,000 in door prizes and awards, as well.
We made the front page of Sunday's Herald-Zeitung, Oct. 8 2006 and were congratulated by Project AWARE for a "massive event". There are lots of photos here in the Photo Galleries.
One of our many goals for next year is to make this once again a truly state-wide event. With that in mind, we'd like to have a representative in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and another in the Hill Country to help get the word out. It won't take much effort, mostly contacting the local clubs and dive shops. If that's something you'd be willing to help with, please send me an email.
Again, thank you for a tremendous effort this year. TrashFest 07 will be bigger and better - hope to see you there.
