Message from the Chairman
Thanks to everyone who took part in TrashFest 2008. It was another fantastic year!
All in all, we registered 398 participants this year, the most in 10 years. In addition, we had community volunteers from HD Supply in New Braunfels, as well as several individuals who read about the event in the paper, there to help us with registration and weigh-in.
This year's results were 3,679 lbs in aggregate weight, plus an additional 3,562 bottles/cans/cups and 149 shoes/sunglasses that were counted. Congratulations to the teams who won "Super Scooper" shirts in these categories:
A big "thanks" goes out to our very generous 2008 Sponsors, and congratulations to the lucky folks who took door prizes home with them.
As many of you may have noticed, we had film crews from the EcoXplorers and Going Down television shows filming at TrashFest this year. Stay tuned for information on how you can see the segments that they will be producing.
We're looking forward to TrashFest '09. Mark your calendars - it'll be on Oct 3, 2009.
